*Storm-Weary Offshore Energy Firms Prep for Massive Hurricane*
Oil and gas platforms are preparing for Storm Delta that is due to batter the Mexican Cancun within the next few days, that is on course to head to the gulf coast over the next week. Oil producers evacuated 57 production facilities in expectation of 145mph winds and torrential rain. The evacuations have led to 540,000 bpd of oil taken out of supply, with Royal Dutch Shell, the largest in the region prepared to evacuate from 9 facilities and looking at shutting several more. Norwegian oil field strikes are set to continue past October 10th as a stalemate in negotiations over pay are ongoing. Output from the region is set to fall even further as more workers from the union may leave as talks are yet to produce a favorable outcome for both parties. President Trump has shut down stimulus talks until after the election which has caused Crude futures to fall off overnight, which was paired with bearish news from the API of a crude build of just under 1 million barrels on Tuesday.
