Venezuela, which is currently starved of fuel has seen a large spree of thefts from idled state oil field with many home-distilling their own gasoline in a bid to try and obtain the product. Although it is only a small amount of total output from the nation, it goes to show the gravity of the situation facing many Venezuelans with the 1.3 million bpd machine, currently collapsed. *Norway oil firms raise 2021 investment plans by 12%*

Oil and gas firms in Norway are boosting their investment plans by 12% in the sector because of accelerated project plans and increasing costs. Companies are also expected to produce significant oilfield investment in 2022, with investment in the sector estimated at around $18.4 billion next year. (Reuters)

 

*Iraq’s SOMO Expects New Basrah Medium Grade Sales Of 1 Mil B/D*

Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organisation expect sales of the new Basrah Medium grade sales to reach 1 million barrels per day, similar levels to the Basrah light crude. SOMO are currently looking at where the medium contract will be loaded. (S&P Global Platts)
